Finmin reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to growth at World Bank-IMF Staff Association

October 23, 2024 (MLN): During his visit to the USA, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb engaged with the World Bank-IMF Staff Association and shared insights into Pakistan's ongoing efforts to stabilize its economy.
Supported by the IMF Extended Fund Facility, Pakistan has implemented key measures to drive economic recovery.
Aurangzeb underscored the government's focus on fiscal consolidation, improving the governance and management of state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and addressing the high energy costs in the power sector.
He further emphasized the importance of enhancing productivity and competitiveness by fostering a more favourable business environment for the private sector.
The Finance Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to sustaining growth through these structural reforms, aiming to strengthen the country’s economic foundation for the future.
