Finance Minister Miftah Ismail to present the sixth and final budget

Finance Minister Miftah Ismail to present the sixth and final budget in a while. The budget has been approved by the federal cabinet.

FM Miftah Ismail will present the budget amid extreme criticism by opposition parties, who have challenged the government’s decision to table full year budget.

The sitting party PML – N’s decision to appoint a new Finance Minister hours before the budget release has been received very harshly all political parties who have protested the move as unconstitutional and illegal.

According to a local daily, the 2018-19 budget will have a total outlay of over Rs5.5 trillion.

"Unfortunately, the government is snatching the right of the next assembly with today's budget," said the opposition leader Mr. Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah. "My wish is that whichever party wins the elections, has the right to present the budget."

"This government has no ethical right to present the budget for the entire year."
