FFC eyes zincated urea market after Engro’s 'Zabardast Urea' success

October 26, 2023 (MLN): The success of Engro 'Zabardast Urea' has attracted the attention of Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (PSX: FFC) and is considering entering into Zincated Urea given the significance of additional margins, according to well-informed sources.

To note, Engro Fertilizers Limited (PSX: EFERT) sells a unique product under the Brand name 'Zabardast Urea’ at a pricing premium of Rs1,314 per bag to engro urea.

Engro Zabardast Urea is sold at Rs4,725 per 50 kg bag, which is 38.5% higher than the Engro urea price of Rs3,411 per 50 kg bag.

Zabardast Urea was launched in 2017, as part of EFERT’s vision to pioneer next-generation fertilizers in Pakistan.

This product is developed in collaboration with Niha Corp USA.

It has a unique combination of Nitrogen (42%), Bioactive Zinc (1%), and a consortium of beneficial microbes that mobilize nutrients in the soil and enhance crop resistance.

According to Engro, the product is beneficial for all crops as it increases crop yields, improves quality, and enriches zinc content in produce.

Engro sells around 300,000 tons of Zabardast Urea annually, which earns them a handsome profit.
