Fertilizer offtake plunges by 17 percent in July

August 27, 2019 (MLN): Total nutrient offtake during July, 2019 was about 399 thousand tonnes, which was 17.4 percent lower than July 2018.

Among the nutrients, nitrogen offtake decreased by 12.2 percent, phosphate by 27.0 percent and potash offtake by 48.0 percent.

During Kharif 2019, cumulative nutrient offtake (April-July) was 1515 thousand tonnes, which increased by 2.6 percent over the same time frame of Kharif 2018. Nitrogen offtake increased slightly by 0.8 percent, while phosphate offtake increased by 9.3 percent. Potash offtake decreased by 11.3 percent during same time period.
