FBR extends tax return deadline to Oct 31

October 15, 2024 (MLN): The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has once again extended the deadline for filing Income Tax Returns for the tax year 2024 up to October 31, 2024, according to an official notice.

Earlier, the deadline was extended from September 30 to October 14, 2024.

Preliminary data shows as of October 13, the FBR received 4.44 million income tax returns, compared to 2.17m during the same period last year, an increase of 104.8%.

Of the 4.44m, a significant 1.64m or 36.9% are nil-filers.

While for the full tax year 2023, the FBR had received a total of 6.44m returns.
