ECNEC ratifies development projects in various areas

November 14, 2018 (MLN): The Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) has ratified the project for evacuation of power from Suki Kinari, Kohala and Mahl hydro power, at a cost of Rs.79.9 billion.

At the meeting which took place earlier today, with Finance Minister Asad Umar in chair, the committee approved a series of development projects in various areas.

These projects include Sind Solar Energy project at a cost of Rs.12.848 billion, Rehabilitation project of Dargai hydroelectric power station, at a cost Rs.4 billion, and the Baluchistan Water Resource Development Project (BWRDP), which costs Rs.16.453 billion.

Apart from this, the Ministry of Water Resources presented a proposal to include Tangir Hydropower project in the Diamer Basha Dam project.

ECNEC also sanctioned the revised cost of Peshawar Sustainable Bus Rapid Transit Corridor Project, which has increased from Rs.45 billion to Rs.66.4 billion. The stipulated completion time for this project is June 2019.
