Pakistan, Qatar strengthen internal security partnership

July 28, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and Qatar have agreed to expand bilateral cooperation in internal security, reaffirming their commitment to closer collaboration on regional and mutual security matters.

The understanding was reached during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Qatar's Interior Minister, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, in Doha.

The two ministers reviewed the existing security partnership and discussed measures to further strengthen cooperation in internal security.

They also explored avenues to enhance coordination between the two countries on matters of shared interest, according to Radio Pakistan.

The meeting included an exchange of views on the regional security environment, with both sides emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and stability across the region.

Mohsin Naqvi reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to broadening cooperation with Qatar in the security sector and other areas of mutual interest, highlighting the importance of sustained bilateral engagement.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani reiterated Qatar's strong ties with Pakistan, saying his country values the bilateral relationship and remains committed to working closely with Pakistan to further enhance cooperation across various sectors.
