ECC to approve Rs1.8bn grant for Reko Diq security

March 13, 2025 (MLN): The agenda of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting, scheduled for Thursday, March 13, 2025, includes the approval of a Technical Supplementary Grant (TSG) of Rs1.8 billion for security charges related to the Reko Diq project for Frontier Corps Balochistan (South).

Additionally, the committee will approve Rs 250 million for new initiatives in ICT Schools/Colleges under the Federal Directorate of Education (Grant No. 36) for the fiscal year 2024-25, under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs will seek approval for the export of Potassium Sulphate (K2SO4) from Gwadar Port.

The Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control will seek approval for a TSG of Rs36 million for the repair and maintenance of helicopters by Pakistan Rangers (Sindh).

Additionally, it will seek approval for a TSG of Rs15.4m to purchase spare parts for helicopter maintenance by Frontier Corps Balochistan (North), Quetta.

The ministry will further discuss the release of funds under the Sustainable Development Goals Achievement Programme (SAP), and the disposal of a gold case/reward money under Customs Reward Rules.

The Industries & Production Division will present a request for the provision of funds to SMEDA for implementing the Prime Minister's initiatives.

The ECC meeting will be held in the Committee room, 4th Floor, Q-Block, Finance Division, Islamabad.

The Minister for Finance and Revenue, Muhammad Aurangzeb, will chair the meeting.
