ECC meeting underway, duty and tax on cotton imports under discussion

January 8, 2019 (MLN): A meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) which was scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. in Islamabad today is currently underway, with the Minister for Finance, Revenue & Economic Affairs, in chair.
The agenda under discussion at the meeting includes withdrawal of Custom Duty, Additional Custom Duty and Sales Tax on import of Cotton.
In addition to this, the meeting is reviewing progress in different sectors of the economy and the vital economic indicators.
