ECC approves Rs23bn additional grant for AJ&K government

May 16, 2024 (MLN): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Wednesday approved the provision of Rs23 billion as an additional grant to the AJ&K Government through a Technical Supplementary Grant as proposed by the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb presided over the meeting of the ECC.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Minister for Industries & Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Masood Malik, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and concerned federal secretaries.

To recall, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had authorized an additional grant of Rs23bn to the Government of AJ&K, in the paramount national interest during a high-level meeting held on Monday.
