Closing Bell: On the Run

June 30, 2020 (MLN): In line with international markets, the domestic stock market sustained positive momentum and closed the financial year FY20 on optimistic note by further adding 240 points to the benchmark KSE-100 index to settle at 34,421.92 points marks.   

The Index traded in a range of 279.03 points or 0.82 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 34,424.82 and a low of 34,145.79.

Of the 95 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 52 closed up 41 closed down, while 2 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 124.36 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 164 points, Fertilizer with 34 points, Food & Personal Care Products with 27 points, Technology & Communication with 23 points and Power Generation & Distribution with 18 points.

The most points added to the index was by MCB which contributed 78 points followed by UBL with 25 points, NESTLE with 24 points, HBL with 16 points and FFC with 14 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 37 points, Cement with 10 points, Automobile Assembler with 5 points, Textile Spinning with 3 points and Engineering with 3 points.

The most points taken off the index was by OGDC which stripped the index of 17 points followed by PPL with 14 points, HCAR with 7 points, JLICL with 7 points and KOHC with 5 points.

All Share Volume increased by 66.39 Million to 223.31 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.39.58 Billion.

Total companies traded were 369 compared to 351 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 171 closed up, 179 closed down while 19 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 15,195 to 85,233.

Value Traded increased by 1.88 Billion to Rs.7.51 Billion
