Car sales lose momentum in April

May 13, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan’s auto industry recorded a 4.5% MoM decline in car sales during April 2025, with total units (including LCVs, vans, and jeeps) falling to 10,596 from 11,098 in March, the latest data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) showed today.
The sales of cars, including LCVs, vans, and jeeps, in Pakistan increased by 0.8% in April 2025, clocking in at 10,596 units compared to 10,515 units recorded in the same month of last year.
Cumulatively, in 10MFY25, sales clocked in at 111,360 units, around 39.9% higher compared to 79,595 units sold in 10MFY24.

The data released by PAMA further showed that the maximum number of passenger car sales was made within the ‘1300cc and Above’ category at 5,175 units in April 2025.
Within this category, Toyota (Corolla & Yaris) recorded the highest sales at 2,516 units, followed by Honda Cars (Civic & City) with sales of 1,574 units, Suzuki Swift with 671 units, and Hyundai Elantra with 218 units.
The second highest number of sales was made within the ‘Below 1000cc’ category at 2,599 units during the review month.
Suzuki Bolan led sales with - units in this category, with the Suzuki Alto following with 2,276 of units.
Moreover, the '1000 cc' segment witnessed a sale of 230 units in April 2025.
In this category, Suzuki Cultus recorded the highest sales at 146 units, followed by Suzuki WagonR with sales of 84 units.
