Bulls continue to dominate the trading floors, 100 – Index gains another 490 pts

January 8, 2019 (MLN): Having witnessed remarkable gains at the capital markets yesterday, the bulls rallied the trading floors for the second day in a row, leading another session to end on a positive note. The benchmark KSE – 100 Index has gained another 490 points in today’s trade, concluding the session at 39,052 points.

Oil & Gas Exploration Companies led the gains in today’s trade, contributing 202 points to the index alone. In particular, gains on the scrips of PPL (+4.8%), OGDC (+2.99%) and POL (+2.74%) steered the index in green.

The 100 – index touched an intraday high of 39,148 points and an intraday low of 38,562 points as it travelled within the range of 586 points.

Out of the 100 companies listed within the KSE – 100 index, 93 companies’ shares were traded today, of which 66 companies recorded a leap in share prices. The trade volume for the day has been recorded at 105.1 million shares at Rs.6.7 billion.

On the other hand, the broader KSE All Share gained 246 points in today’s session, closing the day at 28,776 points.

The companies listed within the broader index witnessed a trading activity of 166.8 million shares at Rs.8 billion.
