Benchmark Index gains over 100 pts as optimism prevails

November 27, 2018 (MLN): The KSE 100 index gained over 122 points by the day end and closed in at 40894 points, indicating positive sentiments amongst investors. Commercial banks, Oil & Gas exploration companies and Fertilizers emerged as the major net gainers as they contributed 109, 48 and 24 points to the index respectively.

Among the index heavy weights, gainers on the scrips of HBL (2.78%), UBL (3.85%), EFERT (2.82%), POL (1.70%) and PPL (0.89%) coxed the index towards gains.

Within a range of 404 points, the index touched an intraday high of 40925 points and an intraday low of 40520 points. Around 70.7 million shares were traded today for the scrips listed on the benchmark index with their total value recorded at Rs. 4.7 billion.

The broader KSE All share also gained merely 5 points by the day end and closed in at 29,442 points.

An intraday high of 29,518 points and an intraday low of 29,219 points was recorded by the day end for the all share index with a range of 298 points.

Over 132.3 million shares of the scrips listed within the broader KSE All Share Index have been traded so far, with its value recorded at Rs. 6.47 billion.
