Bed Wear exports during outgoing ten months register a phenomenal increase of 27.97 percent

According to the latest data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), total textile exports during the month of May clocked in at $1.204 billion; posting a rise of 4.83 percent from April’s exports of $1.148 billion.

Compared to that, year on year growth in the Textile exports went up by more than 28 percent during the month of May. The total exports during the month of May 2018 against May 2017 grew by $55.497 million.

Textile items exported from Pakistan mainly include Raw Cotton, Knitwear, Bed wear and readymade garments, Cotton cloth, cotton yarn and other Textile Items.

The major chunk of export earning under the Textile head was mainly from the Knit Wear which contributed a total of 21.50 percent of the entire exports. Total Knitwear exported during the month of May, 2018 clocked in by $258.864 million grew from $230.035 million same month last year.

PBS data reveals the second major chunk of exports under the Textile head was mainly from the Readymade garments which contributed a total of 18.55 percent of the entire exports. Readymade garments exported during the month of May, 2018 clocked in at $223.375 million rise from $180.156 million same month last year.

Furthermore, year on year exports in Bed wear items went up by 27.97 percent during May, 2018 with a month on month increase by 10.24 percent.
