Avenfield case Verdict: Nawaz Sharif sentenced to ten year imprisonment, 8 Million pounds fine

An accountability court hearing the Avenfield reference has found the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif guilty and sentenced him to ten years imprisonment and an 8 Million pound fine. It sentenced his daughter to 7 years imprisonment and a 2 million pound fine.

The reference was among three filed against Nawaz Sharif and his children by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on the orders of the Supreme Court following the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif from holding public office on July 28, 2017.
