May 29, 2019 (MLN): Various units of Attock Refinery Limited (ATRL) will be shut down for a month on June 20, 2019, as the company plans to carry out essential maintenance of its distillation units and regeneration of reformer catalyst.

Pursuant to a notification issued by ATRL to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) earlier on, this shut down may result in a 33% drop in production which will then impact the product supplies during June-July 2019.

The Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) has already approved this shutdown and has made alternate arrangements to handle crude oil production from northern oil fields and to meet any production shortfall.
