Attock Cement commissions new 1.2 million tons per annum line

Attock Cement Pakistan Ltd (ACPL) has started operations at its new 1.2 Million tons per annum production line at Hub, Balochistan. The line brings the total capacity of the plant to 10,000 tons per day and represents and investment of US $ 130m.

The construction work was completed within 22 months with the help of Pakistani engineers. Alongside this project, the company also plans to install a 15MW WHR plant.

In the quarter ending 30 September 2017, Attock cement saw a 19 per cent YoY increase in local dispatches to 390,544t from 327,764t. However, exports decreased by 18 per cent in the same period, to 130,908t from 158,147t.

The cement capacity utilization of the company fell to 113 per cent from the 118 per cent recorded in the year-ago period.
