February 11, 2025 (MLN): To address the challenges of illegal fishing, piracy, and drug and human trafficking, the maritime community needs to embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI) and modern technology while developing ethical and legal guidelines for the sector.

This was stated by the Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal while addressing the concluding session of the AMAN Dialogue 2025 as the chief guest.

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal congratulated Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Pakistan Navy, NIMA, and all stakeholders for organizing the insightful partnership-building event, according to the press release issued.

He said that the Indian Ocean should not be the center of tensions and strategic contention rather it should be a center of opportunities and shared progress.

Further, he asserted that Pakistan prefers collaboration over confrontation and trade over tensions.

AMAN Dialogue is an example of mutual trust and shared prosperity which signifies Pakistan's commitment and resolve towards a peaceful maritime sector, he continued.

He briefed the audience that Pakistan is determined to pursue the benefits of the blue economy.

This commitment is reflected in Pakistan's Uraan Pakistan program, through which the country is modernizing and digitizing ports, enhancing shipping trade routes, enabling AI in trade, and connecting routes via CPEC corridors.

He hoped that relations built in AMAN Dialogue would turn into long-standing partnerships for the betterment of the maritime sector and that this Dialogue would yield results in shared progress and peaceful horizons.

The Minister expected that the international dignitaries and guests would carry Pakistan's message of peaceful maritime aspirations.
