Work starts on 2.88km Kacha Noor Shah road project

November 17, 2025 (MLN): Construction has begun on the 2.88-kilometre Kacha Noor Shah Road, a dual-carriageway scheme costing Rs490.4 million and scheduled for completion by June 2026.

The project aims to ease travel difficulties for residents by providing a safer and more efficient link within the area, where road access has remained limited.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, officials highlighted that the project fits into the federal government’s wider focus on improving essential services and expanding transport infrastructure.

They noted that earlier development under former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif included major motorway and road networks designed to improve mobility nationwide, while the current administration of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is continuing those development commitments.

Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Syed Imran Ahmed Shah said the new road is expected to enhance daily travel, strengthen local connectivity and improve residents’ quality of life.

Local communities welcomed the start of construction, calling the road a long-needed upgrade that will bring lasting convenience and better access to nearby towns and services.
