Rs155.56bn authorized under PSDP in first two months of FY2025-26

September 09, 2025 (MLN): In the first two months (July–August) of the fiscal year 2025-26, Rs155.564 billion out of a total allocation of Rs1,000 billion under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) has been authorized for ongoing and new social sector uplift projects of federal ministries, divisions, and corporations.

According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, actual development expenditure during the same period stood at Rs5.305bn.

Of the total authorized amount, Rs107.983bn was allocated to federal ministries and divisions, while Rs47.581bn was directed to corporations, including the National Highway Authority (NHA) and the Power Division (NTDC/PEPCO).

Among the federal ministries and divisions, the Cabinet Division received Rs10.558bn, the Higher Education Commission Rs8.036bn, the Interior Division Rs4.936bn, the Railways Division Rs3.362bn, and the Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Division Rs3.490bn. 

The Federal Education and Professional Training Division was authorized Rs2.787bn, the National Health Services Regulations and Coordination Division Rs2.151bn, and the Information Technology and Telecommunication Division Rs2.434bn.

Other authorizations included Rs1.733bn for the Defence Division, Rs1.072bn for the Revenue Division, Rs904.05 million for the Information and Broadcasting Division, Rs750.87m for the Housing and Works Division, and Rs718.90m for the Science and Technological Research Division.

The Finance Division received Rs127.74m, while Rs39.935bn was authorized for Provinces and Special Areas. 

Allocations also included Rs638.06m for the National Food Security and Research Division, Rs519.75m for the Maritime Affairs Division, and Rs417.55m for the Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Division.

The Parliamentary Affairs Division was allocated Rs375m, while the Law and Justice Division received Rs286.87m. 

The Industries and Production Division got Rs285.64m, and Rs270m was authorized for the Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan & SAFRON Division.

Further allocations included Rs267.90m for the Defence Production Division, Rs251.41m for the National Heritage and Culture Division, and Rs176.98m for the Inter Provincial Coordination Division. The Board of Investment received Rs165.81m, while the Petroleum Division was allocated Rs107.79m.

The Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Division received Rs97.56m, the Special Investment Facilitation Council Division Rs75.51m, and the Establishment Division Rs74.30m. 

Smaller allocations included Rs22.37m for the Communications Division (excluding NHA), Rs7.50m for the Commerce Division, and Rs3.45m for the Human Rights Division.

Among corporations, the National Highway Authority (NHA) received an authorization of Rs34.047bn, while Rs13.533bn was authorized for the Power Division (NTDC/PEPCO).
