Pakistan records FDI of $208m in July

August 20, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan has recorded a value of $208.09m in July, compared to $194.7m in the Same Period Last Year (SPLY), the latest data issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) showed.

Comparison on a month-on-month basis shows that the country reported an investment of $385m in the previous month.


Within the direct investments in the review month, there was an inflow of $317.11m, up by 11.29% YoY, while the outflow increased to $109.02m, up by over 20.82% YoY.

Concerning portfolio investment under FDI, an outflow of $33.79m was witnessed through equity securities as compared to an inflow of $23.64m in July 2024.

The foreign private investment into the country amounted to a positive $174.3m in July 2025, as compared to private investment worth $218.34m recorded in July 2024.

Meanwhile, with respect to foreign public investment, an outflow of $10.78m was witnessed during the review month through equity securities.

Accordingly, the total foreign investment in the review month clocked in at $163.52m, compared to an investment $363.39m in July 2024.
