Pakistan imports from China clocks in at $1.7bn

June 17, 2026 (MLN): Among Pakistan’s top trading partners, China remained the top source of imports for Pakistan during May, followed by U. A. E. Dubai, U. S. A., and Saudi Arabia.

According to the data released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the total imports from China during the period under review went up by 2.4% to $1.74 billion, as compared to $1.7 billion recorded in the corresponding period of last year.

This was followed by U. A. E. Dubai, as Pakistan imported goods worth $618.75m from the country as compared to the imports of $660.47m recorded during the same month of the previous year, depicting a deline of 6.3%.

U. S. A. was the third on the list as Pakistan imported products worth $449.84m from the country. This figure was up by 84% from the imports of $244.49m in the same period last year.

Saudi Arabia was the fourth in line as imports came from the region during the aforementioned period were $297.22m, depicting an increase of 2.2% YoY.

Among other countries, Pakistan's imports from the Oman stood at $251.78m, marking a rise of 343.7% YoY, while imports from Singapore increased by 11.2% YoY to $234.98m.

Moreover, the imports from Indonesia stood at $214.38m, down by 6.7% YoY.

On a monthly basis, the total imports from China dropped by 2.1% MoM. Similarly, imports from U. A. E. Dubai dropped by 28.3% MoM.

Moreover, imports from U. S. A. depicted an increase of 12.2% MoM.

Meanwhile, cumulatively, in 11MFY26, China remained the top source of imports, recording $15.82bn as against the total imports worth $13.19bn in 11MFY25.

Whereas, total imports from U. A. E. Dubai in 11MFY26 stood at $5.59bn, registering an increase of 6.4%.

Cumulatively, Saudi Arabia ranked as the third-largest contributor to Pakistan's imports, accounting for imports valued at $3.32bn in 11MFY26, compared to the imports worth $3.18bn in the same period last year
