August 27, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday’s trading session at 177,322.77, showing a decrease of 47.93 points or 0.03%.
The index traded in a range of 1,453.73 points, showing an intraday high of 178,650.01 (+1,279.31) and a low of 177,196.28 (-174.42) points.
The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 218.45 million shares.
Of the 100 index companies, 48 closed up, 52 closed down.

Top losers during the day were NBP (-6.56%), PSX (-3.12%), PSO (-2.92%), DGKC (-2.76%), and PPL (-2.42%).
On the other hand, top gainers were AICL (+6.18%), KTML (+4.95%), APL (+4.50%), GHGL (+4.22%), and POL (+3.40%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were NBP (-239.51pts), PPL (-139.63pts), PSO (-90.60pts), OGDC (-81.09pts), and SYS (-63.07pts).
Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were HUBC (+118.15pts), ENGROH (+114.81pts), POL (+113.13pts), UBL (+89.38pts), and FFC (+58.01pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-139.56pts), Cement (-126.33pts), Commercial Banks (-92.90pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-79.25pts), and Technology & Communication (-59.85pts).
While the index was supported by Power Generation & Distribution (+113.14pts), Fertilizer (+98.88pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+87.57pts), Insurance (+41.05pts), and Automobile Assembler (+27.73pts).

The market remained under pressure as oil prices extended their recent decline amid growing expectations that diplomatic efforts involving Iran could lead to the reopening of the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. A potential easing of supply disruptions linked to the Middle East conflict weighed on energy-sector sentiment.
In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 107,545.61 with a net loss of 170.58 points or 0.16%.
Total market volume was 614.06 million shares compared to 644.84m from the previous session, while traded value was recorded at Rs34.55bn, showing an increase of Rs3.18bn.
There were 408,043 trades reported in 496 companies, with 191 closing up, 279 closing down, and 26 remaining unchanged.
