Pakistan, UAE reaffirm commitment to strengthen naval cooperation

September 09, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have reiterated their commitment to enhancing bilateral defense cooperation during a meeting between Commander of the UAE Naval Forces, Major General Humaid Mohammed Abdullah Alremeithi and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad on Monday.

The two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics and avenues for strengthening defense collaboration.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf briefed the visiting commander on the Pakistan Navy’s ongoing initiatives to promote regional peace and maritime security, particularly through Regional Maritime Security Patrols.

Major General Alremeithi acknowledged and appreciated the Pakistan Navy’s role in maintaining maritime security and contributing to regional stability.

Upon his arrival at the Naval Headquarters, the UAE Naval Commander was received by the Chief of the Naval Staff, where he was presented with a guard of honor by a smartly turned-out naval contingent.
