Pakistan, Oman seek stronger bilateral partnership

August 6, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Oman have reaffirmed their commitment to expand cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, investment, and energy.

This came during a meeting between the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Pakistan, Mr. Fahad Sulaiman Khalaf Alkharusi, and President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Both sides stressed the importance of further strengthening ties for the mutual benefit of the two brotherly nations.

President Zardari emphasized that the close fraternal relations between Pakistan and Oman are rooted in shared religion, culture, and values, and called for greater engagement at the leadership level to enhance bilateral ties.

The President highlighted key areas for collaboration, noting that Pakistan is keen to increase trade and investment in fields such as information technology, construction, healthcare, food security, and energy.

He stated that strong government-to-government links would encourage robust private-sector partnerships, ultimately boosting economic activity between the two countries and expressed appreciation for Oman’s support of Pakistan’s candidature for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2025–2026 term.

Additionally, he thanked Oman for hosting over 400,000 Pakistanis who contribute to Oman’s development and act as a vital bridge of friendship between the two nations.
