September 09, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Kazakhstan have reiterated their resolve to strengthen political and economic cooperation during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu in Islamabad.
Both sides also committed to enhancing regional
connectivity and maintaining close coordination in the lead-up to the upcoming
Presidential visit scheduled for November this year.
Deputy Prime Minister Nurtleu arrived in Islamabad on
Monday for a two-day official visit. He was received at the airport by
Additional Secretary for West Asia Syed Ali Asad Gillani along with senior
government officials.
The visiting Kazakh delegation comprises 13 high-level
members, including the Minister of Transport. According to the Foreign Office,
the visit includes meetings of Joint Working Groups on Agriculture and
Information Technology, aimed at expanding sectoral cooperation.
During his stay, Deputy Prime Minister Nurtleu will hold
a one-on-one meeting with Senator Ishaq Dar, followed by delegation-level
talks. He is also expected to meet President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime
Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
The discussions will provide an opportunity to review
preparations for the forthcoming Presidential visit and to engage on the full
range of bilateral relations. Areas of focus include trade and investment,
agriculture, education, cultural and tourism exchanges, regional connectivity,
logistics, and cooperation at multilateral platforms.
The Foreign Office stated that the visit would further
consolidate longstanding ties between Pakistan and Kazakhstan and contribute to
deeper collaboration across multiple sectors for the mutual benefit of both
nations.
