November 07, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Iran have reaffirmed their steadfast commitment to promoting global peace, regional stability and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.

The resolve was expressed during a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Speaker of the Iranian Parliament (Islamic Consultative Assembly) H.E. Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who called on the Prime Minister along with a high-level delegation in Islamabad on Friday.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed the Iranian delegation and emphasized the deep-rooted bilateral ties between the two brotherly Muslim nations.

He reiterated that both Pakistan and Iran firmly believe in resolving global disputes through dialogue and diplomacy. The Prime Minister also conveyed profound respect for Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pazeshkian.

Highlighting shared challenges, PM Shehbaz stated that both nations have been victims of terrorism and remain united against all forms of state-sponsored aggression.

He emphasized that Pakistan and Iran stand together in their resolve for global peace, prosperity, and constructive regional cooperation.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s desire to strengthen bilateral relations, the Prime Minister expressed keen interest in expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly economic development and trade.

In response, Speaker Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf conveyed gratitude to the Prime Minister, Government, and people of Pakistan for their steadfast support during the recent Iran-Israel conflict, acknowledging Pakistan’s stance during the 12-day war as a gesture deeply valued by the Iranian people.

The Iranian Speaker praised the robust cooperation between the parliaments of both countries and expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended during his visit. He also delivered a message of goodwill and friendship from Iranian President Masoud Pazeshkian.

The meeting was also attended by Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi.
