Pakistan, Iran unite for global peace, Muslim solidarity

November 07, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Iran have reaffirmed their steadfast commitment to promoting global peace, regional stability and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
The resolve was expressed during a meeting between Prime
Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Speaker of the Iranian Parliament (Islamic
Consultative Assembly) H.E. Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who called on the
Prime Minister along with a high-level delegation in Islamabad on Friday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed the Iranian
delegation and emphasized the deep-rooted bilateral ties between the two
brotherly Muslim nations.
He reiterated that both Pakistan and Iran firmly believe
in resolving global disputes through dialogue and diplomacy. The Prime Minister
also conveyed profound respect for Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
and President Masoud Pazeshkian.
Highlighting shared challenges, PM Shehbaz stated that
both nations have been victims of terrorism and remain united against all forms
of state-sponsored aggression.
He emphasized that Pakistan and Iran stand together in
their resolve for global peace, prosperity, and constructive regional
cooperation.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s desire to strengthen bilateral
relations, the Prime Minister expressed keen interest in expanding cooperation
in areas of mutual interest, particularly economic development and trade.
In response, Speaker Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf
conveyed gratitude to the Prime Minister, Government, and people of Pakistan
for their steadfast support during the recent Iran-Israel conflict,
acknowledging Pakistan’s stance during the 12-day war as a gesture deeply
valued by the Iranian people.
The Iranian Speaker praised the robust cooperation
between the parliaments of both countries and expressed appreciation for the
warm hospitality extended during his visit. He also delivered a message of
goodwill and friendship from Iranian President Masoud Pazeshkian.
The meeting was also attended by Speaker National
Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on
Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi.
