November 07, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and China have agreed to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties through expanded collaboration and new initiatives, including a China Solo Exhibition and an Investment Summit.

During a meeting between a delegation from the Pakistan Chemicals & Dyes Merchants Association (PCDMA), led by Chairman Salim Valimuhammad, and the Consul General of China in Karachi,. Yang Yundong, both sides discussed ways to enhance trade relations and expand the scope of the Pakistan-China Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

The meeting, held at the Chinese Consulate, marked a significant milestone in advancing bilateral economic relations. Key initiatives were agreed upon, such as the inclusion of additional items in the FTA particularly in the chemicals and dyes sectors and facilitating priority visas for PCDMA members to promote smoother business exchanges, said a press release issued.

Consul General Yang Yundong welcomed the PCDMA’s proposals and assured full Chinese support for initiatives that could boost industrial cooperation and bilateral trade. He emphasized China’s commitment to working closely with Pakistani industries to foster mutual growth.

Chairman Salim Valimuhammad highlighted the importance of organizing a China Solo Exhibition in Karachi to allow Chinese companies to showcase their products and explore partnerships with local businesses. He also proposed hosting a China Investment Summit to attract Chinese investors to Pakistan’s emerging industrial sectors.

Yang Yundong agreed to coordinate with the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad to ensure these initiatives move forward promptly and effectively. Both sides reaffirmed their shared goal of expanding trade volumes and diversifying the economic partnership between the two countries.

Expressing gratitude to the Chinese Consul General, Valimuhammad said the initiatives discussed would usher in “a new era of economic collaboration” between Pakistan and China.

“The agreements reached today will pave the way for stronger trade, greater Chinese investment, and deeper industrial cooperation,” he remarked, adding that both nations are poised to unlock the full potential of their longstanding economic partnership.
