August 19, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Bangladesh are exploring enhanced cooperation in energy and mineral sectors following talks between Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik and Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan Md. Iqbal Hussain.

Discussions at the Ministry of Petroleum focused on potential collaboration in limestone, coal, and petroleum products to bolster economic growth and energy security.

Malik said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is committed to supporting stronger ties with Bangladesh and pursuing joint ventures in key industries.

Both sides highlighted opportunities for exploration, trade and investment, while stressing the importance of knowledge-sharing to maximize sectoral potential.
