PTA reports 8% growth in local mobile manufacturing in Nov 2025

December 30, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan’s local mobile phone manufacturing and assembly showed signs of recovery in November 2025.
Local companies manufactured or assembled 2.49m mobile
phones during the month showing an 8% year-on-year increase compared to 2.31m
units in November 2024.
According to the latest data released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

On a cumulative basis, local manufacturing and assembly reached 27.6m units during 11M2025, registering a 3% decline year-on-year.
Of the total units produced during the period, smartphones
accounted for 53% (14.51m units), while 2G handsets made up the
remaining 47% (13.09m units), highlighting a balanced demand mix between
smartphones and basic phones.
The PTA further reported that 88% of Pakistan’s mobile phone demand was met through local manufacturing and assembly during 11M2025, down from an average of 93% in 10M2025.
In terms of brand-wise performance, the top 10 locally
assembled mobile phone brands during 11M2025 were led by Infinix with
3.47m units, followed by VGO Tel (3.07m units) and Vivo (2.57m
units).
Other major contributors included Itel (2.20m units),
Tecno (1.73m units), Samsung (1.57m units), Xiaomi (1.35m
units), Q Mobile (1.06m units), Realme (1.00m units), and G’Five
(0.92m units).
Overall, PTA data suggests that while Pakistan’s local
mobile phone industry faces ongoing pressure on a cumulative year-on-year
basis.
This indicates that the sector continues to deal with
long-term challenges compared to previous years.
However, monthly production trends suggest that the industry
is gradually stabilizing.
This improvement is being driven by a recovery in market
demand and the continued growth of local handset manufacturing.
