PSX Closing Bell: Hit the Floor

June 18, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 120,465.93, showing a decrease of 1,505.11 points or 1.23%.

The index traded in a range of 1,487.50 points showing an intraday high of 121,905.49 (-65.55) and a low of 120,417.99 (-1,553.05) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 122.20 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies, 16 closed up, 82 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were PKGP (-10.00%), INDU (-6.04%), POML (-4.81%), KTML (-4.71%), and ISL (-4.22%).

On the other hand, top gainers were BNWM (+10.00%), AGL (+8.71%), PABC (+2.33%), EFERT (+1.03%), and MEBL (+0.69%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-118.24pts), PKGP (-118.16pts), PPL (-89.04pts), MARI (-85.68pts), and UBL (-76.50pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were EFERT (+37.78pts), MEBL (+31.81pts), AGL (+9.99pts), PABC (+7.82pts), and COLG (+4.42pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-312.78pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-245.94pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-191.00pts), Cement (-124.70pts), and Technology & Communication (-123.90pts).

While the index was supported by Insurance (+1.58pts), Real Estate Investment Trust (+1.49pts), Woollen (+0.92pts), Tobacco (+0.78pts), and Modarabas (+0.35pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 75,339.81 with a net loss of 877.42 points or 1.15%.

Total market volume was 707.29 million shares compared to 1,152.01m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs21.27 billion showing a decrease of Rs6.71bn.

There were 298,910 trades reported in 470 companies with 102 closing up, 327 closing down, and 41 remaining unchanged.

 To note, the KSE-100 has gained 42,021 points or 53.57% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 5,339 points or 4.64% so far this calendar year.
