October 01, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 165,640.33, showing an increase of 146.75 points or 0.09%.

The index traded in a range of 2,367.29 points showing an intraday high of 166,522.61 (+1,029.03) and a low of 164,155.32 (-1,338.26) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 1,003.82 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 38 closed up, 62 closed down, while 0 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were FATIMA (+10.00%), BOP (+9.76%), KEL (+5.61%), MARI (+4.85%), and PAEL (+4.64%).

On the other hand, top losers were HUMNL (-4.03%), FHAM (-3.60%), HGFA (-3.52%), UNITY (-3.32%), and FABL (-3.01%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were MARI (+288.70pts), MEBL (+147.89pts), FATIMA (+135.13pts), BOP (+122.53pts), and SAZEW (+56.25pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-141.84pts), HUBC (-134.30pts), HBL (-82.27pts), PPL (-64.72pts), and BAHL (-57.53pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Fertilizer (+230.46pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+156.97pts), Commercial Banks (+104.38pts), Cable & Electrical Goods (+44.71pts), and Automobile Assembler (+36.00pts).

While the index was let down by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-139.50pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-87.60pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-53.26pts), Textile Composite (-34.74pts), and Food & Personal Care Products (-26.09pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 52,914.51 with a net gain of 36.42 points or 0.07%.

Total market volume was 1,639.02 million shares compared to 1,349.80m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs69.66 billion showing a decrease of Rs7.11bn.

There were 515,248 trades reported in 486 companies with 173 closing up, 287 closing down, and 26 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 40,013 points or 31.85% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 50,513 points or 43.88% so far this calendar year.
