October 23, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 164,590.41, showing a decrease of 1,962.86 points or 1.18%.

The index traded in a range of 2,325.04 points showing an intraday high of 166,720.42 (+167.15) and a low of 164,395.38 (-2,157.89) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 485.01 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 25 closed up, 74 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were BAHL (-9.98%), HMB (-5.89%), PTC (-5.79%), FABL (-5.14%), and ABL (-4.44%).

On the other hand, top gainers were MUREB (+6.07%), ILP (+5.82%), AGP (+5.76%), INIL (+5.13%), and DHPL (+4.59%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were BAHL (-567.70pts), HMB (-119.89pts), LUCK (-119.76pts), HUBC (-109.15pts), and ENGROH (-102.47pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were MCB (+56.30pts), ILP (+39.66pts), FFC (+36.62pts), AGP (+31.03pts), and UBL (+29.00pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-1032.34pts), Cement (-263.12pts), Technology & Communication (-168.44pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-116.03pts), and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-103.22pts).

While the index was supported by Fertilizer (+26.22pts), Engineering (+20.64pts), Pharmaceuticals (+14.90pts), Food & Personal Care Products (+13.23pts), and Textile Composite (+7.85pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 52,155.06 with a net loss of 705.28 points or 1.33%.

Total market volume was 1,504.58 million shares compared to 1,568.82m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs49.52 billion showing a decrease of Rs5.55bn.

There were 508,790 trades reported in 474 companies with 146 closing up, 291 closing down, and 37 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 38,963 points or 31.01% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 49,464 points or 42.96% so far this calendar year.
