October 23, 2026 (MLN): Profit for the period of Murree Brewery Company Limited (PSX: MUREB) rose 22.38% year-on-year to Rs1.18bn for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared with Rs960.36m in the same period last year.
Basic and diluted earnings per
share (EPS) increased 22.38% to Rs42.49 from Rs34.72 in the corresponding
quarter last year.
Along with the results, the

The growth came from higher

heavier tax charge, partly offset the gains.
Net turnover grew 9.15% to
Rs8.81bn from Rs8.07bn. Cost of sales rose at a slower pace of 7.33% to
Rs6.37bn from Rs5.93bn, lifting gross profit 14.19% to Rs2.44bn from Rs2.14bn.

fell 7.06% to Rs409.99m from Rs441.15m, while administrative expenses rose
11.85% to Rs234.52m from Rs209.68m. Other expenses increased 18.86% to
Rs132.94m from Rs111.85m, and other income declined 39.11% to Rs16.33m from
Rs26.81m.
As a result, operating profit
climbed 19.83% to Rs1.68bn from Rs1.40bn.
Finance costs fell 61.92% to
Rs0.40m from Rs1.04m, while finance income rose 7.17% to Rs184.32m from
Rs172.00m. Net finance income grew 7.59% to Rs183.93m from Rs170.96m.

final taxes rose 18.50% to Rs1.87bn from Rs1.57bn. The company booked no final
taxes (levies), against Rs0.34m last year, taking profit before income tax up
18.52% to Rs1.87bn from Rs1.57bn.
Income tax expense increased
12.48% to Rs690.26m from Rs613.66m, which absorbed part of the gains and left
