October 07, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 166,173.74, showing a decrease of 1,578.66 points or 0.94%.

The index traded in a range of 2,521.76 points showing an intraday high of 168,518.97 (+766.57) and a low of 165,997.21 (-1,755.19) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 629.74 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 25 closed up, 74 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were SSOM (-9.20%), HUBC (-3.75%), PAEL (-3.57%), POL (-3.33%), and FHAM (-3.18%).

On the other hand, top gainers were ABL (+6.54%), AKBL (+3.85%), HBL (+3.56%), AICL (+2.81%), and UPFL (+2.23%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were HUBC (-255.09pts), ENGROH (-218.98pts), LUCK (-214.23pts), UBL (-159.85pts), and MARI (-137.90pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were HBL (+212.83pts), EFERT (+71.11pts), AKBL (+49.12pts), ABL (+46.76pts), and BOP (+28.72pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-431.04pts), Cement (-358.03pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-261.58pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-235.79pts), and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-60.18pts).

While the index was supported by Insurance (+23.00pts), Automobile Parts & Accessories (+2.53pts), Leather & Tanneries (+0.86pts), Paper, Board & Packaging (+0.29pts), and Synthetic & Rayon (+0.00pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 52,985.41 with a net loss of 503.36 points or 0.94%.

Total market volume was 1,266.23 million shares compared to 1,274.36m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs54.22 billion showing a decrease of Rs6.32bn.

There were 462,670 trades reported in 487 companies with 183 closing up, 267 closing down, and 37 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 40,546 points or 32.28% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 51,047 points or 44.34% so far this calendar year.
