October 22, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 166,553.27, showing a decrease of 793.56 points or 0.47%.

The index traded in a range of 1,932.32 points showing an intraday high of 168,163.21 (+816.38) and a low of 166,230.89 (-1,115.94) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 727.76 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 40 closed up, 57 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were TPLRF1 (-6.08%), KEL (-4.61%), FATIMA (-4.54%), FFL (-4.28%), and KTML (-4.17%).

On the other hand, top gainers were PABC (+7.32%), PSX (+5.70%), PTC (+3.83%), THALL (+3.50%), and PPL (+3.21%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-295.06pts), UBL (-129.43pts), MCB (-78.87pts), HBL (-74.38pts), and FATIMA (-70.30pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were PPL (+136.51pts), OGDC (+49.81pts), PSX (+41.67pts), BOP (+40.06pts), and SNGP (+33.77pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-407.13pts), Fertilizer (-353.21pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-103.44pts), Real Estate Investment Trust (-37.74pts), and Cement (-32.53pts).

While the index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+119.49pts), Pharmaceuticals (+30.88pts), Miscellaneous (+29.04pts), Automobile Parts & Accessories (+27.07pts), and Leather & Tanneries (+16.60pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 52,860.34 with a net loss of 251.86 points or 0.47%.

Total market volume was 1,568.82 million shares compared to 1,478.59m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs55.07 billion showing an increase of Rs3.19bn.

There were 489,471 trades reported in 476 companies with 203 closing up, 232 closing down, and 41 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 40,926 points or 32.58% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 51,426 points or 44.67% so far this calendar year.
