September 18, 2025 (MLN): A landmark initiative to empower Pakistani youth with practical, market-oriented skills has been introduced under the Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Program.

The Languages Training Program, introduced through collaboration between the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) and the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), aims to build a globally competitive and skilled workforce.

The program offers free, high-quality training in international languages including Chinese, German, Arabic, Japanese and Korean.

More than 800 students across Islamabad enrolled, with hundreds successfully completing the rigorous six-month training.

Graduates have gained not only language proficiency but also cultural understanding, new pathways to higher education and greater opportunities for international employment.

Federal Minister for Education Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, while addressing the occasion, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to investing in youth empowerment.

“This program is our promise to the young people of Pakistan. We will continue to provide them with tools to secure brighter futures, access better jobs and compete on the international stage,” he said.

Dr Siddiqui added that the success of the Languages Training Program would serve as a model for future initiatives in education and skills development.

He extended appreciation to NAVTTC and NUML for their expertise, to educators for their efforts and to students for their dedication, calling their achievements a testament to a new, globally connected Pakistan.
