PKR rises by 11 paisa against USD

August 07, 2025 (MLN): The PKR to USD exchange rate showed slight improvement in Thursday’s session, as the Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 11.44 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar. The PKR interbank closing rate settled at PKR 282.56 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 282.67, according to the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the trading day, the Dollar rate in Pakistan today saw an intraday high (bid) of 283.5 and a low (ask) of 285.15. The PKR exchange rate today reflects a relatively stable trend amid ongoing forex market activity.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 284.35 for buying and 285.15 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR weakened 3.15 rupees or 0.96% against the Euro, closing at 330.31 compared to the previous value of 327.16.

Against the British Pound, PKR decreased by 2.43 rupees or 0.65% to 377.99 compared to 375.56 a day ago.

The local unit weakened 1.81 rupees or 0.52% against Swiss franc to close at 351.22.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value weakened 1.30 paisa or 0.68% to close the session at 1.9256 versus 1.9126 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee fell 5.12 paisa or 0.13% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.37 from 39.32.

The local currency strengthened by 3.95 paisa or 0.05% against Saudi Riyal to 75.29. While it increased by 3.12 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.93.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has gained against the US Dollar by 1.21 rupees or 0.43%. While it has deteriorated 4.01 rupees or 1.42% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 3bps to 10.79% and 11.04%.
