PKR loses 14 paisa against USD

June 18, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by 13.94 paisa or 0.05% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 283.55 per USD, compared to previous closing of 283.41.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 283.5 and a low (ask) of 285.6.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 283.50 for buying and 285.35 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR gained 1.00 rupees or 0.31% against the Euro, closing at 326.48 compared to the previous value of 327.49.
Against the British Pound, PKR strengthened by 2.68 rupees or 0.70% to 381.72 compared to 384.40 a day ago.
The local unit strengthened 1.47 rupees or 0.42% against Swiss franc to close at 347.24.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value gained 0.36 paisa or 0.18% to close the session at 1.9563 versus 1.9599 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee weakened 0.27 paisa or 0.01% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.46 from 39.46.
The local currency weakened by 3.72 paisa or 0.05% against Saudi Riyal to 75.58. While it weakened by 3.68 paisa or 0.05% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 77.21.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has fell against the US Dollar by 5.21 rupees or 1.84%. While it has fell 5.00 rupees or 1.76% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 1bps to 10.93% and 11.18%.
