PKR increases by 76 paisa against USD

July 25, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 76.49 Paisa against the US dollar in Friday's interbank session as the currency settled the trade at PKR 283.4539 per USD, compared to the previous session's closing of PKR 284.2188 per USD.

The Currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 284.0 and a low (ask) of 286.55.

In the open market, Exchange Companies quoted the dollar at 284.0 for buying and 286.55 for selling.

During the week PKR appreciated by 1.41 Rupees or 0.5 percent compared to previous weeks closing of 284.8667.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR gained 1.45 Rupees against the Euro, closing at 332.8882 compared to the previous value of 334.3408.

The British Pound became cheaper by 3.86 Rupees closing at 381.5998 compared to 385.4576 from a day ago.

The Swiss franc saw losses of 1.97 Rupees, closing at 356.1202 compared to 358.0936 from the previous session.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR gained 2.26 Paisa, closing at 1.9183 versus 1.9409 a day ago.

The Chinese Yuan lost 19.26 Paisa, closing at 39.5413 against 39.7339 from the previous session.

The Saudi Riyal closed at 75.5575 with a loss of 20.39 Paisa from its values of 75.7614 a day ago.

The U.A.E Dirham decreased in value by 20.83 Paisa from 77.3806 a day ago to 77.1723.

During the current financial year, PKR has appreciated against the Dollar by 31.06 Paisa or 0.11%. While the current calendar year has seen PKR depreciate by 4.9 Rupees or 1.73%.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1 bps to 10.61 and 10.86 percent.
