PKR inches up, closes at 280.66 against USD

November 19, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) gained by 1.19 paisa against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.66 per USD, compared to previous closing of 280.67.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.00 and a low (ask) of 281.70.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.50 for buying and 281.75 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR appreciated 36.46 paisa or 0.11% against the Euro, closing at 325.13 compared to the previous value of 325.50.

Against the British Pound, PKR rose by 43.66 paisa or 0.12% to 368.90 compared to 369.34 a day ago.

The local unit strengthened 2.07 rupees or 0.59% against Swiss franc to close at 351.11.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value appreciated 0.58 paisa or 0.32% to close the session at 1.8048 versus 1.8106 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee deteriorated 1.44 paisa or 0.04% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.48 from 39.46.

The local currency gained by 0.12 paisa or 0.00% against Saudi Riyal to 74.84. While it gained by 0.74 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.41.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has gained against the US Dollar by 3.10 rupees or 1.11%. While it has weakened 2.11 rupees or 0.75% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.94% and 11.19%.
