PKR Inches Up by 1.20 paisa against USD

October 01, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) strengthened by 1.20 paisa or 0.00% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.31 per USD, compared to previous closing of 281.32.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.30 and a low (ask) of 281.30.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.20 for buying and 282.40 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR fell 36.57 paisa or 0.11% against the Euro, closing at 330.76 compared to the previous value of 330.39.

Against the British Pound, PKR weakened by 61.69 paisa or 0.16% to 378.92 compared to 378.30 a day ago.

The local unit weakened 58.54 paisa or 0.17% against Swiss franc to close at 354.02.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value deteriorated 1.24 paisa or 0.65% to close the session at 1.9124 versus 1.9000 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee fell 0.78 paisa or 0.02% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.51 from 39.50.

The local currency increased by 0.31 paisa or 0.00% against Saudi Riyal to 75.01. While it depreciated by 0.82 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.60.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 2.46 rupees or 0.87%. While it has depreciated 2.76 rupees or 0.98% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 2bps to 10.86% and 11.11%.
