NDMA and Jazz–VEON harness digital infrastructure for citizen safety

September 19, 2025 (MLN): The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Jazz–VEON have strengthened collaboration on disaster monitoring, early warning systems, and resilient communications to enhance Pakistan’s readiness against climate-related and natural disasters.

The initiative focuses on leveraging predictive AI models, real-time alerts, and digital infrastructure to safeguard lives and livelihoods.

A senior-level delegation led by Kaan Terzioğlu, CEO VEON Group, and Aamir Ibrahim, CEO Jazz, visited the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) at NDMA Headquarters, where they were received by Chairman NDMA, Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik.

NDMA officials showcased NEOC’s advanced capabilities and discussed future technology-driven solutions for disaster resilience.

The NDMA–Jazz partnership has already delivered over 300 million early warning alerts for floods, rains, and heatwaves, alongside active relief support during major calamities.

The delegation praised NDMA’s proactive approach and emphasized the vital role of private sector collaboration in national disaster preparedness.
