Intraday Report: KSE-100 index bleeds over 750 points

February 24, 2022 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index has lost 754 points [11:16 pm] in intraday trade and is currently trading at 44,378.41, following the footsteps of global markets after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Russian forces to invade Ukraine.

Since the market has been knocked down by the geopolitical tension, it seems that investors would remain hesitant until and unless the situation gets better.

At present, Russian forces fired missiles at several Ukrainian cities and landed troops on its south coast, after President Putin authorised what he called a special military operation in the east, a report by Reuters noted.

Following this news, Brent oil has touched $100 a barrel the benchmark for the first time since 2014.

Technology & communication, cement, commercial banks and fertilizers have witnessed higher selling activity as they have lost around 148, 119, 125, and 37 points respectively.

Company-wise, the scrips of SYS, AVN, ABL, AKBL, CHCC, DGKC, ENGRO, and EFERT have endured the maximum losses.
