Govt to introduce comprehensive tractor policy

September 11, 2025 (MLN): A comprehensive Tractor Policy is set to be introduced in Pakistan as part of the government’s broader strategy to boost industrial growth, following the recent finalization of the Industrial Policy.

The policy aims to address regulatory duties, enhance exports and tackle the challenges faced by the tractor industry, which is considered vital to the country's agriculture sector.

In a meeting between Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Finance, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan and the Chief Executive Officer of Millat Tractors, discussions centered on policy development and industry sustainability.

Mr. Khan emphasized the government’s commitment to formulating the policy with full stakeholder engagement to ensure its inclusivity and effectiveness.

Highlighting the tractor industry’s crucial role in supporting farmers and driving agricultural productivity Mr. Khan stated that the new policy will align with international best practices.

He stressed the need for a long term framework as a sustainable solution to the industry's challenges.

Mr. Khan reaffirmed that the initiative is in line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of ushering in a new industrial revolution in Pakistan.
