Govt backs advanced police training

July 23 ,2025(MLN): The need for the highest level of preparation for police officers to enable them to efficiently discharge their duties has been placed at the center of the government’s police reform agenda.

This priority was highlighted by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during a visit to the National Police Academy where he stressed that the core of the training syllabus must focus on protecting citizens’ lives, securing property, and access to justice.

The upgraded academy will span twenty-five acres and include an elite training school and firing range, said the press release.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that advanced courses, including those on cyber security, will also be introduced at the academy.
