December 08, 2025 (MLN):  The government emphasized its dedication to economic reforms, formalization, and a transparent tax system while meeting with senior executives from Nestlé Pakistan, focusing on industry engagement, tax recovery, and structural reforms.

Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Nestlé Pakistan’s leadership, led by Chief Executive Officer Jason Avancena, according to a post by the Ministry of Finance on their social media handle.

The minister highlighted the newly established Tax Policy Office as a key initiative for continuous engagement with industry and noted that actions against the informal sector are already showing results.

Nestlé’s delegation shared progress on localization, automation, sustainability initiatives, efficiency measures, and a significant reduction in import volumes over the past three years through enhanced local sourcing.

The discussions also covered export expansion, regional trade challenges, and potential new logistics routes for Central Asia.

The finance minister welcomed deeper collaboration with the Tax Policy Office to improve tax recovery, rationalize sectoral anomalies, and support domestic industry.

Nestlé’s global leadership is expected to meet the Prime Minister at the World Economic Forum in Davos to discuss future investment plans focused on sustainability, agricultural transformation, automation, and enhanced production capacity in infant and dairy nutrition.

Senator Aurangzeb reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fostering responsible investment and maintaining a policy environment that supports innovation, competitiveness, and long-term economic growth.
