Federal Cabinet reappoints Shoaib Javad Hussain to lead State Life

August 11, 2024 (MLN): The Federal Cabinet has approved the reappointment of Shoaib Javad Hussain as Chief Executive Officer of the State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan for another three-year term.

The decision recognizes his leadership in steering the organization towards growth and modernization.

Shoaib, currently serving as Chairman of State Life brings over 20 years of management experience at leading global insurance groups and consultancies in the United Kingdom and across Asia.

Before joining State Life he held senior leadership and management positions with AIA Group Ltd, Milliman, Prudential plc, EY and HSBC. Began his career at an actuarial consultancy in Pakistan.

A Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (UK) and holder of an MSc in Actuarial Management from Cass Business School, City University, London Shoaib has built a distinguished career marked by his expertise in finance, audit, risk and strategic management.

His global engagements across Europe, North America and Asia have equipped him with in-depth knowledge in areas such as M&A due diligence, capital and liquidity management, risk oversight and governance enhancement.

Under his leadership State Life has strengthened its operational efficiency expanded its business footprint and improved transparency and control frameworks.

His reappointment is seen as a move to ensure continuity in strategic reforms and further strengthen the corporation’s position in Pakistan’s insurance sector.
