September 09, 2025 (MLN): Digital Pakistan Initiative is empowering
youth, entrepreneurs, and industry to revolutionize the country’s manufacturing
sector.
The Federal Minister
for National Food Security and Research said on Tuesday while speaking at the
International Summit on Redefining Digital Manufacturing, as reported by APP.
The minister commended
Octave Technology Solutions (OTS) for organizing what he described as a timely
and impactful event that brought together national and international experts,
industry leaders, and practitioners under one roof.
He stressed that while
manufacturing has long been the backbone of national economies, competitiveness
in today’s interconnected world depends on adopting digital technologies,
automation, and advanced engineering solutions.
Tools such as 3D
scanning, reverse engineering, additive manufacturing, and precision metrology,
he said, are transforming industries worldwide, and Pakistan must adapt quickly
to secure its position in global supply chains.
The minister
underlined that the government has placed industrial modernization and digital
transformation at the core of its economic strategy.
He pointed to the
establishment of the Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA) under the Digital Nation
Pakistan Act 2025 as a major milestone that will frame the National Digital
Masterplan, enforce governance standards, and enable Industry 4.0 adoption.
He also highlighted
initiatives including the Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA), which is
developing high-tech hubs such as Islamabad Technopolis, the Engineering
Development Board’s efforts to upgrade automotive, machinery, and engineering
value chains, and the National Aerospace Science & Technology Park (NASTP),
launched in 2023, which is positioning Pakistan in aerospace, cyber, and
frontier technologies.
The minister lauded
OTS as a homegrown pioneer in digital manufacturing, noting its advanced
services in 3D scanning, reverse engineering, and digital prototyping are
filling a critical gap in Pakistan’s industrial innovation ecosystem.
He said such
indigenous enterprises embody the spirit of innovation and demonstrate the role
of local technology providers in driving national transformation.
Furthermore, he
expressed confidence that the summit would lead to long-term partnerships,
actionable strategies, and collective resolve to accelerate Pakistan’s journey
toward digital industrialization.
He said knowledge sharing at such forums is vital to preparing for a future where technology, creativity, and competitiveness define national strength.
